Every piece of software has some requirements, and though we meet them by default most of the time, the developers need to keep track of their product's requirements when they create it. An excellent tool for this purpose is ReqView, which enables you to record requirements information in familiar tabular view. Its simple design and straightforward functionality make this job quite easy, so you don't have to worry about complex procedures and confusing options.

You can try out the software for a limited time, but you must request a trial, to get an activation key by email, otherwise, the program will be unusable. Downloading and installing ReqView shouldn't take more than a minute, even on slower machines. Furthermore, you don't have to install any prerequisite tools or services before running it.

One of ReqView's main advantages is the fact that it keeps everything simple, while still providing enough features to satisfy your needs. It comes with a demo project, which it loads by default to help you get started. You can track projects and documents in a column, on the left side of the user interface, and create new records in the large central area. All you have to do is click a button or double click a blank space to create a new entry and start typing the information you need to submit.

When you select an entry, you may pick between several options, for adding new ones above or below, editing, cutting, copying, pasting or deleting. If you want more, you can look at the toolbar or in the top menus, and you will find a wide range of options that make ReqView more convenient. Furthermore, the software provides you with all the advantages of editing in rich text format, so you may attach pictures, add hyperlinks and so on.

For each entry you or someone else creates, you can view and edit instructions, attributes, add discussions and links, on the right side of the user interface so that everyone working on the same project will have an idea on what needs to be done when they look over a document.

Keeping track of a project's life cycle and requirements won't have to hinder your important tasks, thanks to ReqView.

Pros

You can keep track of hardware and software requirements and other documentation material. The software has a wide range of features to offer, but it still keeps everything simple.

Cons

At the time of writing, the software doesn't have any online collaboration features.
